Listen to Above & Beyond’s Dreamy New Track, “Flying By Candlelight”

Above & Beyond are returning to what they do best in their new track “Flying By Candlelight”: creating auditory masterpieces. The UK dance group and founders of Anjunabeats are back with a surprise single that is equal parts dreamy and energizing.

“Flying By Candlelight” features vocalist Marty Longstaff, who is also the featured vocalist for their track “Tightrope.” This newest track creates a full sonic landscape around an emotional story that Above & Beyond describes on Dancing Astronaut:

“‘Flying By Candlelight’ is a love song about a saviour who rescues our protagonist from a dark, lonely place, taking him through a spectacular night sky. A bit like The Snowman by Raymond Briggs, but a bit longer lasting!”

The track certainly evokes feelings of flying through a night sky, with its moody atmospheric vibe and somewhat subdued beat.

The track really lights up in the club mix, which is also included in the release. This version of “Flying By Candlelight” packs a punch, teasing with a long buildup before unleashing a wild drop around the 2:40 mark. The club mix and its extended counterpart are great additions to the release of the track.
