It seems like the final season of HBO’s Game Of Thrones (GOT) has stolen the world’s collective attention. You can’t escape it anywhere you go online, it completely fills my timelines. The latest episode “The Long Night” was one of the most watched TV episodes ever. My fervor for the show has never been higher and it forced me to seek out more GOT content. The search took me to the realm known Apple Music and low and behold I discovered For The Throne (Music Inspired by the HBO Series)
This album features superstar fans like Ellie Goulding, SZA, Travis Scott, The Weeknd, A$ap Rocky, Joey Badass, Lil Peep, and Mumford & Sons. There are too many great artists to list, but they blended the album together wonderfully. This project roams genres like a white walker hoard roams through Westeros. Every song filled with amazing references and shout outs to the characters and lore from the books and series. If you’re like me and one episode a week just isn’t enough GOT content, this album will scratch your itch.
Ellie Goulding’s “Hollow Crown” stands apart for me as one of the best songs on the album and nails the sinister tone of the final season.
