Games Done Quick Hosts Week Long Twitch Stream Raising Money For Cancer Research

Games Done Quick is one of the most unique charitable organizations doing it today. This organization has harnessed the gaming world’s love for competitive speed-running to raise millions of dollar for charity since 2011. Speedrunning is a competitive sub-culture of the gaming world; where participants try to beat popular games from start to finish with blazing record-setting speed.

Starting today Games For Quick is hosting a week-long Twitch stream benefiting Doctors Without Borders and the Prevent Cancer Foundation. This gaming marathon is the largest fundraising event for either of these charities, MySanAntonio reports.

The week-long gaming marathon will showcase speedruns of favorite franchises throughout the decades including Portal, Counter-Strike, Metal Gear Solid, God of War, Bomberman, Earth Worm Jim, Tomb Raider, Zelda,  Super Mario Bros., and Final Fantasy. View the week-long schedule here.
