For this West Coast Weed Tour review, we will be highlighting Hygge Farms, located in the Springdale area of Eastern Washington. Having become a dispensary favorite everywhere they’ve shown up on shelves. With strains like Shelter (Maui) and Joy (Dosido) leading the way as some of their best sellers. The Glow (Garlic Breath) strain has become a heavily sought after bud for those looking for a funky and relaxing indica.

One thing that Hygge Farms does very different from other companies is giving each strain its own name based on a feeling or a reason that it is important to them. For example, Maui is called Shelter because they have been cultivating it for 10 years and it has allowed them to build the company to where it is today. Dosidos is Joy because for them it invokes happiness and joy when consumed. They decided to do this due to the lack of DNA Typing within the Cannabis industry. Currently, there is no used method that allows a cultivator to say they actually have a said strain due to so many strains being renamed and crossed.

Another reason they have decided to name strains in this way is to try and pull cannabis out of the counter culture and into the mainstream. Trying to normalize a strain called Green Crack or Agent Orange is a lot more challenging than Truce or Atmosphere. Of course, they can’t normalize the use of cannabis for everyone. But hopefully, this can attract a few new consumers to expand the acceptance.

Glow (Garlic Breath)

A cross of Garlic Bud and Mendo Breath, this Indicia dominate strain has a motor engine taste with a backing of sour earthiness. Not exactly what I was expecting but one I ended up really liking. The nugs are a beautiful purple and green, with a little dusting of trichomes frost. Top it all off with being dense as rocks and this bud checks all the boxes on look appeal. The high was enjoyable settling you into the couch like a true indica while still feeling mentally present.

This Garlic Breath strain wasn’t as heavy as I was hoping which leads me to give this strain an overall of 7.5 out of 10 for this review. While the presentation and care of the bud were prime. The taste and high weren’t what I was expecting nor hoping for this time around. With that being said I felt this was an appropriate score for this product.
