We have another premiere for our audience this week! We’re bringing a new artist to our site, Graves 33.
‘American Hypocrite’ is a record about Grave’s perception on the trials and tribulations we Face as small fish in the big pond of America. He really finds his groove around a minute and ten seconds in. No crazy wordplay, no off kilter rhythms, just real thoughts straight to paper. Riding the sample, the Northwest hip-hop artist keeps his “100 proof” message very clear on the mic.
The Dyllyn Greenwood directed visuals really brings this record to life. From city drone shots to the woods, the coloring is cohesive. Graves is running to find peace but ultimately must face adversity.

“The video is symbolic of the turmoil we all tend to feel here in the 21st century. It sometimes makes us want to pack up and leave civilization, wearing all white symbolizing how new we are to the idea that we can find solidarity in nature. We all have our worldly possessions that hold us down. Gold watches, medallions… The goons in black represent America’s negative ailment that seems to seek out the people who try to flee its grasp.”
