Kodak Black has been releasing music again, recently dropping his 8-track Haitian Boy Kodak album. To celebrate his 24th birthday, he’s given us a 4-track project. The aptly titled, “Happy Birthday Kodak,” is powerful considering its length. The short EP features Jacquees, Yo Gotti, Rylo Rodriguez, and Lil Keed. For being so short, this is a surprisingly full release from Yak.
In addition to the album dropping, Kodak gave us a music video for one of the project’s standout tracks, “Feelin Peachy.” Currently sitting at #6 on Trending For Music on YouTube, the track has already run up nearly 4 million views in five days. There are comments from fans arguing this will bring Kodak another Grammy.
Kodak Black – Feelin Peachy [Official Music Video]
The video for “Feelin Peachy” is a colorful display of Kodak spitting bars in different pink and peach outfits with beautiful women surrounding him. Reeking of Miami vibes, the track has a somber Spanish guitar loop that is accentuated by huge 808s that get you moving. This is sure to be one of Kodak’s biggest releases since his release from prison.
Earlier in April of this year, Kodak entered a plea deal in regards to his sexual assault case. The Florida emcee pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of first degree assault and battery. He was sentenced to 18 months of probation. This comes after he was originally facing up to 30 years in prison after being indicted with first degree criminal sexual conduct. Hopefully Kodak can stay out of trouble moving forward.
