Hempfest Collaborates With Mediums Collective And Printabowl For 2019 Merch

Mid-August in Seattle means one thing, Hempfest. Since 1991, cannabis advocates from all over have rallied together to protest the criminalization of the plant. Without these brave pioneers, we wouldn’t have the convenience of the legal i-502 market that we have today. Every year, Hempfest creates a collectible set of merchandise in order to fund this volunteer-led festival. This year, they’ve collaborated with the Seattle-based luxury street wear brand, Mediums Collective, as well as the custom paraphernalia company, Printabowl, for a special set of Hempfest 2019 merch.

Since being founded in 2015, Mediums has been taking their stoner-chic apparel to Hempfest. Their clothes typically feature unique design aspects like pockets for your blunt or secret stash compartments. As well, they frequently use hemp textiles for a more sustainable and eco-friendly outfit, making this collaboration a no-brainer.

As I spoke with Mediums founder, Roger Maldonado, he explained his thought process behind this year’s collaboration. He was aware of the stigma some people still have towards cannabis and wanted to help Hempfest continue to break those stereotypes. So, Roger pitched the idea for a timeless collaboration featuring his modern take on stoner street wear.

The special edition Mediums Collective and Hempfest 2019 merch collection features a beautifully embroidered strap-back hat and tee-shirt. The hemp-based hat is the perfect addition to any stoners fit. It provides an extra pocket for your lighter or that stash you want to save for that personal smoke sesh you scheduled with yourself later in the day. The lining on the inside features the flyer artwork highlighting Hempfest 2019’s theme of “Bring Them Home! No Pot Prisoners.”

Even though cannabis is legal in Washington and many other states, that doesn’t mean that all consumers are free. Many people are still getting locked up or are already serving lifetime sentences because of the federal scheduling of cannabis. Every bit of money spent on purchasing these special edition collaboration items goes back to Hempfest, back to the community that has fought so hard to get us here, and it goes back into helping free those prisoners stuck in jail for unjust reasons.

During Hempfest weekend you’ll also be able to track down the Printabowl booth and pick up an official Seattle Hempfest collaboration pipe made from American blown borosilicate glass. You can smoke a bowl with it in honor of those locked up knowing that the money you spend helps Hempfest continue to advocate for the rescheduling of cannabis.

What makes this opportunity really special is the option to get your photo taken and printed onto a pipe in minutes. Creating your own custom piece of glass commemorating Hempfest 2019. Already have a dope photo you’d like to use? Easily connect with our main man Saul, the founder of Printabowl to get your photo uploaded to their database to print on-demand.
