Hot Music Friday Featuring NLE Choppa, Kaytranada, Aminé and More

Regardless of what’s going on in your life, we promise to light up your weekends every Hot Music Friday. We’re halfway through April and our selections this week comprise a fine blend designed to help you unwind as spring sets in and begins to take effect.

With music from NLE Choppa, Logic and Joey Bada$$, among others, we want to wish you a happy Friday! Scroll on to see what we got for you this weekend.

Hot Music Friday – April 14, 2023

Cottonwood 2 – NLE Choppa

Memphis MC NLE Choppa is back with the highly anticipated sequel to his 2019 EP, Cottonwood. The rollout for its follow-up has been positively received, with singles such as “Slut Me Out” and “Ain’t Gonna Answer” featuring Lil Wayne stirring up excitement for the full-length tracklist. We’re excited to announce that it’s finally here!

3P – halfBREED

Logic just can’t help but put out new music. Even after announcing his retirement in 2020, the Maryland spitter returned just months later with fresh content. Most recently, he released the 17-track College Park in February, yet he’s already back with more for this Hot Music Friday. He has now joined forces with C Dot Castro to form halfBREED. Give their debut EP a listen below.

“4EVA” – Kaytranada & Aminé (feat. Pharrell)

There’s nothing quite like a dream collaboration turning into an entire project. If Kaytranada and Aminé’s new song works for you, which we’re almost certain it does, it only gets better. The two are expected to release an album together in May and it’s arguably among the best news to hit the hip-hop space in April.

“Fallin’” — Joey Bada$$

It’s fascinating to see how Joey Bada$$ has found that sweet spot between being tough and gentle. After recently releasing his highly acclaimed third studio record, 2000, he has decided to put out something smoother than the boom bap bars he’s most famous for. The slickness of “Fallin’” isn’t something Joey is trying for the first time, but it’s certainly a sound we love to hear. For that reason, we had to show him some love this Hot Music Friday.

“Hot Boy” – Nardo Wick (feat. Lil Baby)

How could something be laid back and lit all at once? Ask Nardo Wick and Lil Baby, because they clearly have the formula down. This joint was recently released and has already generated nearly 3 million streams on YouTube alone. Check out the video and you’ll see exactly why.

“Bust Back” – Joka Beatz (feat. Jadakiss, Dizzy Wright)

Produced by Joka Beatz, this Jadakiss and Dizzy Wright crossover is straight fire. Lay their bars over a heavy beat, thick piano line, add a light rustle in the background and we have ourselves a classic. This might very well be the hottest track we’ve picked out this week, and it all lies in its simplicity.

“SUFFOCATE” ((VIP)) – Kayzo

Ever wondered what a cross between metal and dubstep would sound like? Look no further because Kayzo got you covered. It’s insane and bizarre and intense — in case you’re confused, that’s a positive review. Find out for yourself!

“Easy Now I’ve Got You” – Teleman

British indie pop outfit Teleman recently put out their fourth studio record, Good Time/Hard Time, Moshi Moshi. The following track is one of the most captivating cuts from it and should be enough to lure you in. It’s a great song off a great album, and we’re proud to send it your way this Hot Music Friday.

“circle the drain” – Soccer Mommy

Swiss singer-songwriter Sophia Regina Allison aka Soccer Mommy is one of the most exciting voices in the indie-rock domain right now. With three albums out already, we want to introduce you to one of the tracks from her sophomore LP to prompt you to listen to her more.
