Hot Music Friday Featuring NxWorries, KAYTRAMINÉ, Blur and More

The time has finally come to get you ready for the summer. This Hot Music Friday, we’re making it our priority to usher you into the fuzzy warmth of the next few months, so prepare yourselves for a spirited phase because we’ve got just the soundtrack for it!

With fresh joints from, NxWorries, KAYTRAMINÉ, Blur and many more, we’re all set to let the light in and throw on the following tunes.

Hot Music Friday – May 19, 2023

“Daydreaming” – NxWorries (Anderson .Paak & Knxwledge)

This power duo never misses. After all, is there really any room for error when two of the most successful and talented musicians of the 21st century come together? Anderson .Paak and Knxwledge have given us one masterpiece after another, and even though it’s always incredible when they drop new music, we’re not surprised anymore at how great it is.

“Rebuke” – KAYTRAMINÉ (Kaytranada & Aminé)

This is precisely what we meant when we were talking about summer. Hot Music Friday this week is themed around the essence of this song, and we have Kaytranada and Aminé to thank for setting the tone. This is one of those songs that are damn near impossible not to love, and it is with full confidence that we endorse its charm.

“Minor Setback” – GUM feat. Ambrose Kenny-Smith

This spacey sonic painting will have you drifting off before you even realize it. And that’s what we’re hoping to accomplish … we want you to get lost in the music, so it only felt right that we threw this on our list. It’s alright to submit sometimes, and GUM just makes it seem so fun!

“The Narcissist” – Blur

The Britpop icons are back with new music in the leadup to their highly anticipated return to the stage later this year. Damon Albarn’s Blur is rarely active nowadays, so to have them drop fresh material is always a big deal. We weren’t going to let it go by unnoticed on Hot Music Friday, so make sure you give it a listen.

“Gila Monster” – King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard

New music from Australian psych-rock army King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard is always welcome because they’ve never lost steam. You can’t really say that about most bands, especially ones that have dropped 23 full-length albums in a decade! If they managed to sustain their quality through it all, you best believe this new song is also a knockout.

“soso Remix” – Omah Lay (feat. Ozuna)

Omah Lay is all set to release the deluxe album set for his highly successful debut Boy Alone on June 15. One of the standout tracks from the record was “soso,” and he has now joined forces with Latin Grammy winner Ozuna on its remix. The pair dropped some serious heat on this one, so it only felt right to include it on our Hot Music Friday list.

Erotic Probiotic 2 – Nourished by Time

We want this one to be bit of a surprise. Nourished by Time’s debut record is phenomenal and unlike anything you’ve heard before, and it’d be a shame if we ruined the experience by telling you anything more. If you trust the music we send your way, then take our word on this one: he’s brilliant and you should set aside about an hour for him. We promise it’ll be worth it!

The Boys & Girls – Chuck Strangers

Our final selection for Hot Music Friday is a slightly abstract one. Brooklyn rapper and producer Chuck Strangers is anything but traditional, yet he’s hip-hop to the core. The guy has bars and beats for days, and you can tell from just listening to his music that he’s overflowing with energy and passion. If you don’t already listen to him regularly, this tracklist should set you on the right path.
