Hey folks. Rome here with a short followup review to my previous piece on the Illenium Awake Tour and releases which can be found here: Illenium Releases Awake EP. I had the opportunity to check this event out for Respect My Region. This is my brief recap for those you that didn’t have the opportunity to make it.
The Awake tour was the perfect example of stepping outside of the box of electronic music. One of my biggest pet peeves with the electronic music industry is that the music all seems to be stagnant. This was not the case here. Illenium once against displayed his versatility on this tour stop. Many of the folks I spoke with that attended felt they underwent an emotional transformation during Illenium’s set.
I’d also like to note the visual aesthetics associated with this release. Not only were the visuals and vibe at the event perfect for the emotion behind the music, but so was the artwork for each single release. As a listener I really got a feel for the influences behind this tour and why Illenium does what he does best. Make great music.
