marijuana venture interchange Spring 2018

Interchange Spring 2018 Was A Wild Success For Washington Cannabis Industry

Marijuana Venture just hosted volume five of their Interchange Conference. Back to back days of strictly cannabis business.

The unrivaled business to be constructed during Interchange is by design. Founder Greg James wanted to create an exclusive event that wasn’t about partying or showing off products at scale but to solve an issue facing the retail sector of the 502 business.

Producers frequently have issues getting in front of the retail buyer. Buyers simply don’t have the time to conduct business and meet the influx of new products and brands on the market. Interchange has created a two-day event where buyers sit on one side of the table and farms get a chance to move from table to table every 30ish minutes to meet with around 24 retail outlets in. I overheard someone say “best event in the industry. the guaranteed time is priceless.”

interchange 502 conferenceThis was my second trip to the Renton Pavilion for Interchange. This year I had a chance to talk with buyers, sales personnel, marketing managers, and owners alike. While the meeting format isn’t just good for new business, it’s great to get in front of current clients in person and vet those that I’ve been persistently checking in. Every single person I spoke with, had great things to say about the effectiveness of this event.

Joey Fray from Bodhi High told us, “around 30 percent of the contacts are business we’re able to reestablish, and around 70 percent were new contacts that we’ve had a tough time getting in touch with the right person. We definitely value the time, even if  it’s only 20 minutes with each retailer.”
