Washington consistently proves that it’s overflowing with talented rappers. And it’s not just Seattle that holds a solid underground scene; other smaller cities around the state are pushing out newly buzzing names left and right. One that has been on our radar for a little while now and continues to impress us is J-Key from Everett, Washington.
This time the PNW rapper brings us trippy visuals for his hit single, “Early.” After the playful song found success throughout 2020 and this year, he dropped a highly-anticipated music video to go along with it. Scenes cycle between different mind-boggling sets and animations as he showcases his lively personality.
The message in Early is a crash course on my personality. A fun beat because I’m a fun person. Punchlines left and right because I love word play. And of course a dash of street throughout the lyrics.

About J-Key
Covering hip-hop from various areas has truly shown me how much an artist’s hometown or location can influence their sound or career. Some artists don’t give their roots any credit while others rep their hometown hard. J-Key is an artist that truly takes pride in his hometown. Though the hip-hop scene may not run deep where he comes from, he works hard to craft a sound for Everett, Washington.
Everett literally is my sound. My engineer is from Everett. My producer is from Everett. I’m from Everett. I shoot most of the videos here. And experiences and upbringing have influenced the sound and the content of course.
