Jay Rock and J. Cole Release Intense New Video For “OSOM”

Following the release of Jay Rock’s new album Redemption last Friday, he has released the visuals to his song “OSOM” featuring J. Cole.  Even though Rock has many notable features off the album that include TDE labelmates Kendrick Lamar and SZA, J. Cole is definitely one of the top artists on the collaboration list.

When listening to “OSOM”, both Jay Rock and J. Cole make it obvious that their previous actions have come back to haunt them. Defined around dark themes, the premise of the song showcases how both artists deal with it in their own personal ways.

The visuals are no different as it depicts both artists running from an unknown enemy throughout the entire video. The “enemy” in this case can be looked at in several different ways. It can be looked upon in a highly literal perspective with a group of individuals chasing after them. At the same time, the “enemy” can also represent their own demons and actions that they are running away from.

Nevertheless, the visuals add much-needed depth to the overall song and messaging which especially helps Jay Rock translate his message much more clearly.
