Joyner Lucas is back with a new single titled “Fall Slowly” featuring Ashanti. Earlier this year he released his critically acclaimed album ADHD. The album spawned many hits including “I Love” and “Isis” featuring Logic. It’s no secret that the rollout for his last album was a long process, so many will find it a surprise he’s dropping new music in the near future. He is expected to be dropping a new EP titled Evolution soon. With “Fall Slowly,” the intended first single is setting the tone for the entire project.
From an immediate listen, it’s apparent that Joyner Lucas has moved away from his typical style. He transitions to a style more R&B based that is smooth and relaxed. Ashanti’s vocals gracefully float over the song, as she’s a perfect addition to the track.
The song documents the story of a relationship and the highs and lows that go with it. The music video and song pair nicely with one another, simply for how the story and emotions are conveyed. He’s giving fans a different look with his latest release. With that said, he’s giving people a lot to look forward to with his new music and he’s only building momentum.
