Underground Brooklyn rapper and producer JPEGMAFIA has officially released his fourth full-length studio project titled LP! featuring Peggy’s classic avant-garde production and bars that’ll rattle your brain. Additionally, this project includes 18 tracks with a runtime of about 49 minutes. JPEG also notably includes one feature on the entire album, with Denzel Curry on the “BALD! Remix.”
LP! Follows JPEGMAFIA’s Usual Unique and Breathtaking Style
This project isn’t necessarily meant for the fans of more mainstream rap like Drake and Travis Scott. JPEGMAFIA has a smaller, dedicated following after building up his body of work. While many might not know of him, his fans are strongly dedicated to his art.

Peggy’s production is on the forefront of art rap, with glitchy samples and unique textures. His beats can be trippy at times, and other times, his beats host an intensity that generates the heaviest mosh pits. Peggy is like the CBGB punk of the rap industry. While on the outside, Peggy defines himself and places his talents above many who just push out the same sound.
JPEGMAFIA opens LP! with a track called “TRUST!,” which places the listener in a realm of upbeat, delayed textures. While JPEG often talks about heavier things, on this track he opens with a much more positive mindset. While floating above the beat, Peggy exclaims “I won’t even lie, I’m looking good. I won’t even fib, I’m feeling nice.”
Later on in this project, the Brooklyn MC presents us with even glitchier production. On the song “ARE U HAPPY?” JPEG utilizes interesting techniques such as dramatic pauses and loud, sudden elements like phones ringing. With a traveling bassline, he lets the production do most of the talking as his vocals are subdued in the mix. These creative decisions are the things that set JPEGMAFIA apart from the rest. He creates the most catchy yet unusual songs.
