Justin Hale Gets “Personal” On His Most Honest And Relatable Song To Date

Today when summer is still teasing us with the sun in the early Fall, Justin Hale has let loose a “Personal” dance track that reeks of progress. Since coming to Seattle from California in recent years he’s really been getting into his bag in the 206, honing his sound and finding the right team. Last year he put out his EP “Rain City” that took 12th place for Seattle’s “Album of the Year” by Crane City Music.

He’s been continuing to rack up performances at places like Dick’s Live Summer Series, and the recent Summer Splash Festival in Fremont thrown by Marshall Hugh of Marshall Law Band. The single, “Personal,” he’s put out today is the kind of R&B danceable tune that perks your ears up right away. You can tell he’s growing and getting better.

In the past, Justin has made tracks that reveal his deep love for R&B while he expertly mixes in modern hip-hop and rap feels. “Personal” takes it to a whole new level as you find yourself bopping and grooving to an almost cabana-style beat. Immediately you feel the track whisk you away to a tropical beach party where the good vibes are flowing. You can even hear Hale dropping a few lines of Spanish in the song.

Justin Hale – “Personal”

Justin told me that with this song “I really felt the most myself.” He went on to say that “it allowed me to channel so much positive energy,” concluding that the vibes from @beatsbymantra on the beat really brought up the energy levels. Overall with his relationship with art Justin told me he’s trying to “love more and fight less.”

Hale made it clear to me that he’s preparing for something big in 2020, but will be steadily releasing singles supporting the city, and the experiences that living here has given him. “I have a few more dance tracks I’m excited to share,” he told me amidst mentioning a song with Dreamville producer @meeztc he’s got coming in the late fall or winter. Hale also made mention of the video for “Personal” coming October 5th with direction from Chase Fade. In the meantime, he’s got a video for his other his single “Fate” coming sooner with direction from Byron G.

I mean it when I say I’ve seen this man grow with his life, job, family, and artistic endeavors, and this song truly shows his growth. The relatable content, the catchy beat, the anthemic hook, and the swagger that is Justin Hale all come together in such a harmonious fashion with this song. If “Personal” is the first taste of where Justin Hale is heading, I want to be there when he reaches his destination.
