Juul E-Cigarettes Are Now Banned By The FDA In The U.S.

The Food and Drug Administration has just banned the use of Juul e-cigarettes over safety concerns. The recent decision is shaking up the vape market. Over the past five years, Juul has been the number one leading brand with vape products in the U.S. In 2020, Juul Labs submitted a tobacco product application. Their goal is to continue to keep their products on the market. However, nearly two years later, the FDA formally denied these products from being sold.

The FDA Is Planning To Ban Juul Products

The FDA’s decision is based mainly on safety concerns. This is a combination of the nicotine levels being around 3% and 5%. In addition, a large number of underage individuals have used the product. In fact, Juul can be viewed as being a major player in the youth vaping epidemic. The nicotine that is seen in their vaping products is highly addictive. For this reason alone, it has been a huge factor in the FDA’s recent decision. As reported by KPIX CBS SF Bay, the FDA wasn’t provided with the sufficient information needed for their products to be deemed safe.

Juul Leaves Unanswered Questions With FDA In New Ban

A safe alternative to smoking standard cigarettes, for many individuals, is the use of e-cigarettes. In a recent statement, Joe Murillo of Juul Labs announced, “We respectfully disagree with the FDA’s findings and decision and continue to believe we have provided sufficient information and data based on high-quality research to address all issues raised by the agency.”

The FDA has shaken up the vaping market and its future. The decision will also reshape people’s approach to consuming these products. As the laws and safety regulations continuously change, the FDA’s new ruling will undoubtedly have a large impact on how these products are viewed moving forward.
