Why No One is Giving Your Kid THC Candy on Halloween

Why No One is Giving Your Kid THC Candy on Halloween

The Cost of THC Candy Alone is Prohibitive

THC is expensive. Stoners around America are begging for canna-gummies and THC candy; nobody in their right mind would give some to your kid for free! While Croptober has lowered prices a bit this October, the average edible still costs $0.17 to $0.23 per milligram of THC.

And if you live in Canada, then the prices are so high that Vice has deemed them “unconscionable.”

The people “doing weed” on Halloween are too busy enjoying themselves to do something as nefarious (and to be honest, uneconomic) as hand out free THC-laced candies to children. It would cost a lot of money to drug kids; and it’s likely that the crook doing so would end up locked behind prison bars for a very long time.

Stoners are Busy Living Their Lives

On October 31st, even the spookiest stoners are going to be laid out on their couch, binging top Halloween movies on Netflix, and smoking out of their Halloween-themed bong.

Unless they’re more extroverted, then they might toke it up with their homies and attend one of many seasonal music festivals, like Suwannee Hulaween.

If they’re a parent, then they’re probably trying to get as many giant-sized snickers bars as humanly possible for their kid.

All this to say, the average stoner is way too cool to hurt kids.

It Has Literally Never Happened

Secondly, there are no recorded incidents of this happening.

It’s one of those creepy old wives’ tales told to scare parents into not enjoying their Halloween festivities to the fullest. However, it pays to be vigilant. Your child is more likely to get hit by a car. A study from 2018 said that an additional four pedestrians die every Halloween. It’s better to worry about looking both ways before you cross the street as you accompany your kid for trick or treating, rather than worrying about THC candy.

But Anything Can Happen, So Be Aware

Lastly, if on the unforeseen occasion that a rich psycho does lace your kids’ candy, (because let’s be real, everything happens at least once in this crazy world) you would be able to tell. It would likely be unwrapped, smell and taste funky, and have the letters “THC” stamped on it conspicuously.

More than likely, your kid will think the canna-candy is rotten and spit it out. While we all love edibles, it’s not for the taste.

Or, if you’re lucky, you’ll spot that THC gummy hidden in their candy stash and take it for yourself. Just like that, your Halloween just got a little more fun!
