Kid Trunks, who claims himself to be the “best Asian rapper alive,” is a South Florida rapper that came up with the late XXXTentacion as a teen and is an original member of X’s Members Only music collective. However, he really made a name for himself off of his first major project, Super Saiyan, in 2018. With features from Ski Mask the Slump God, A$AP Ant, Robb Bank$ and more, the album elevated Trunks from “X’s homie” to a legitimate rising force in the rap game.
His latest project, Moon, dropped in 2020 and was a bit softer and more melancholy than his previous works. In an interview with the Miami New Times, Trunks explained how the album was born out of a depressive episode that lead to a suicide attempt.
He stated in the interview that he had never had those thoughts before and that it was “the first time and last time” he would ever do anything like that. However, the latest development in Trunks’ personal saga presents to him a new kind of challenge.

Kid Trunks Recently Announced His Battle with Cancer
Kid Trunks revealed yesterday that he has been diagnosed with cancer. While he maintains high hopes and is determined to kick cancer’s ass, he needs all the good energy and blessings he can get right now.
He stated that during treatment for COVID-19, doctors revealed to Trunks that he has pneumonia cancer, also known as chest cancer. He took to Instagram to explain the saddening news and to debunk the viral rumor about his death.
“My account was hacked, posted on, then the post was deleted you guys. I wanted to keep silence about my situation but I’ll explain to you guys later today… I was near death but I didn’t die! Thank you all for being there & caring.”
“I’ll keep it short I really don’t gotta explain nothing to nobody but I will! I caught COVID-19 & while in the process of them checking my body out they found I had pneumonia cancer aka chest cancer. #fuckcancer #Webuiltstrong.”
