Korea’s Meego Releases Debut EP “160 degree”

Last week we were able to see South Korean rookie Meego release his first EP “160 degrees.” The young artists saw his debut in 2016 and has been inching his way into the music scene since. With an abundance of singles and features, Meego’s first project was long awaited.

Last seen on Cosmicboy’s hit “Can I Love?,” Meego has capitalized on the success of the feature. “160 degrees” has put the artist in a favorable position to continue to grow his fan base.

The leading single of the EP, “sunset,” is charged with emotion. With a soothing voice, Meego rationalizes his insecurities and puts them on display in the heartwarming track. The rest of the EP plays out situations that unfold in Meego’s life.

Meego does a great job illustrating the circumstances around him. Throughout the project, he highlights different focal points including love, self-doubt, and success.

Although vastly different from the Korean hip-hop I often cover, Meego’s vocal ability overshadowed his lack of star power. The EP itself contains a total of four songs. One of which is titled “Zzz 아침잠”, which hosts a feature from 2019 Korean Hip-Hop Artist nominee Jclef.

Still a relative “beginner” in the scene, the young artist has a lot of stripes to gain before he joins the elite in South Korea. However, Can I Love is a great starting point for the aspiring singer.

You can listen to “160 degree” down below. As the year progresses, it’s simply time to wait and see what’s next for Meego and his camp.
