Lachi Celebrates Women’s Confidence In “What I Want”

New York-based artist, Lachi, makes an appearance once again with a body moving, love-making cut titled, “What I Want.”

Lachi has taken inspiration for her music through growing up in a number of different cities. From Upstate New York, to West Philadelphia and North Carolina. Being apart of all these communities has lent each area’s music talents and characteristics to her voice.

Originally found by Fanatic Records at a SXSW Showcase, Lachi has continued to pursue her music career. With an extensive catalog of work, this talented artist continues to shock the world and build her creative repertoire.

Her original album, Lachi, would find itself all over the radio world. This album saw support from Oprah Radio, NPR, and CW. Since then, Lachi has continued to solidify her name in the music game.

Normally shying away from love and break-up themes, Lachi made the decision to do something new. With the wave of powerful and ass-kicking women, the artist would create the strong and self-confident, “What I Want” in February of 2019.

Co-written and produced by Julian Javan, “What I Want” treats the listener to a summer party vibe. Using a variety of instruments, the work is a singular art that only the artist can bring.

Lachi – “What I Want”

Knowing what she wants as a woman and not caring about patriarchal society. Doing what she loves, not worrying about the status quo. These themes are the leading inspirations for “What I Want.”

These themes in music are all too important in today’s day and age. With the emergence of time-changing women musicians, it’s a breath of fresh air to hear these artists express themselves wholeheartedly.

As 2019 continues, we can expect to see much more work from Lachi. I suggest keeping your eyes out, as her work is only going to progress.
