Lecrae and Zaytoven have teamed up for a new joint project titled Let The Trap Say Amen, which will be released this Friday. As the title vividly hints, their project will mainly be trap-based with Lecrae behind the mic and Zaytoven behind the boards.
The lead single titled “Get Back Right”, is an uplifting and energetic trap anthem that perfectly showcases Lecrae’s flow and wordplay from start to finish. Throughout the song, he describes his the story of believing in Christ and the confidence he has knowing that God is by his side. This can be heard when he raps “Look, I don’t cap, I rap facts, you can go and check the stats/You and your squad versus me and my God”.
For the upcoming collaboration between these two artists, it’s going to be interesting to see how the overall project will flow sonically. Throughout the hip-hop industry, it is rare to see Christian rappers do large collaborations with other mainstream producers and rappers. While he’s stretched the genre widely within his career, working with Zaytoven will attract a much larger mainstream audience.
