Hosted at Buena Vista Lake in Southern California, the 2023 edition of Lightning In A Bottle music festival is officially the 20th anniversary of the historic music event. This year the festival will take place across five days from May 24 through the 29th. The lineup features some of my favorite electronic artists like REZZ, Liquid Stranger, The Glitch Mob, and Diplo, with various classes, talks, workshops, and even an 80s themed prom also scheduled for attendees.
The music will begin at The Woogie Stage on Thursday afternoon giving fans a full extra day to experience the new immersive stage design. Some of the most anticipated artists schedule to perform includes the likes of ZHU, Tobe Nwigwe, Deathpact, SOFI TUKKER, LSDream, and TOKiMONSTA.

According to the LIB team, the “2023 lineup will be its largest and most ambitious to date, with its iconic Lightning stage showcasing some of electronic music’s most compelling and in-demand performers.”
Headlining performances at The Lightning Stage include REZZ, SOFI TUKKER, and ZHU, with breathtaking sets surely to come thanks to artists like Phantogram, Caribou, Beats Antique, Mindchatter, Tobe Nwigwe, 070 Shake, Sampa the Great, Ozomatli w/ Chali 2na & Cut Chemist, and R&B live duo Drama.

Since I haven’t yet attended an LIB, I can’t honestly sit here and say that any one stage is going to be more lit than another. On top of that, every single festival is different and every performance varies from artist to artist. An artist could be having an off night, or maybe they’re especially lit off an edible or something.
The Thunder Stage showcases all kinds of fire music from some of the darker sides of electronic music. Performances at this stage will come from the legendary Liquid Stranger, LSDream, Deathpact, The Glitch Mob, TOKiMONSTA, LTJ Bukem with MC Armanni, Prospa, Moore Kismet, Wreckno, UNIIQU3, MEUTE, THe Polish Ambassador, The Floozies, and Jon Casey.

Over the years I can honestly say that I’ve only been witness to a Diplo set maybe once or twice. I enjoy his energy and passion for music. The love he has for the community and the fans. He’s a legend. It will be an honor getting to experience a Diplo LIB set.
When it comes to all of the wonderful talent being showcased at The Woogie Stage, we’re blessed with performances from a bunch of great artists like Tale Of Us, Purple Disco Machine, BLOND:ISH, Stephan Bodzin, LP Giobbi, Logic1000, TSHA, Layla Benitez, Ben Böhmer, Giorgia Anjiuli, Cassian, Major League DJz, Sabo & Goldcap, AMÉMÉ, Rinzen, Desiree, Nala, Deer Jade b2b Elif, and Mary Droppinz.
I’m pretty much not familiar with any of these artists so I’m particularl excited to check them out and get introduced to some new music.
Fans will also get the opportunity to see the return of Random Rab, the incredible Argentian sensation El Papachango. Live electronic duo, Diamond Saints, bass producer David Starfire, and William Close & The Earth Harp Experience will also be delivering special performances.
