Local Seattle Artists You Should Know But Don’t

Personally, I think finding new music can be somewhat therapeutic. With the amount of music being pushed into popular streaming sites these days, it’s not hard to miss or overlook GREAT music. These are five local Seattle artists that you should know but likely don’t.

ZUKE SAGA

Have you heard of the legend Zuke Saga? He might be one of Seattle’s best-kept secrets. Not only does he stand out on every track he appears on, but he is also very versatile. His wordplay is no joke either, Zuke possesses the ability to connect with the listener without having to dumb down his content. On “God’s Gold Wrist” he raps effortlessly. Check out my favorite album from Zuke below.

GUNNA GOOF

Self-proclaimed “HOT HEAD GOOF”, has a lot to say and knows how to say. Local artist Goof has a way with words and paints a story with every song. My favorite track on his latest project True Story “Straight Through” does just this. The beat is there and provides the bounce and room needed for Goof to tell a story and showcase his talent. Check out my favorite tracks from Gunna Goof Below.

Mundy

It’s difficult to pinpoint a direct sound or mood when listening to Mundy. Two full projects with two completely different moods. Another diverse artist usually heard over Rob Reeves production which deserves another write up entirely. My personal favorites Midas Touch and Vibes can be found below!

DAYM

Another local artist you should know is DAYM. DAYM is definitely the wild card of this article. Actually he’s the wild card in my entire playlist. You might have seen him on stage with behind a big act like Teza Talks playing guitar and providing backup vocals. He sings, produces, plays guitar, and writes his own music as well. If you’re a fan of good vibes and unique sounds I would check out DAYM!

Allen Deshae

Allen Deshae isn’t just another Seattle local. Sometimes an artist has a distinct voice that sets them apart from others. Not only does Deshae have his cadence and delivery down, his word and beat choice are also excellent. “LATE NIGHTZ” has everything you can ask for in a song. Flow, lyrics that paint a picture, and a tad bit of flexing in the wordplay.
