New Music From Louis The Child – “Last To Leave” Ft. Caroline Ailin

Louis The Child just came out with a brand new track, Last To Leave Ft. Caroline Ailin. It’s simple and engaging notes build alongside Ailin’s lyrics, capturing a vivid picture in your head as it progresses.

To me this is music I’d listen to while going for a cruise in my car. The subtle way that LTC can draw me in with their future/chill/wave sound, it’s like they make their music just for me. Caroline Ailin also has a magnificent voice, and lyrics which deftly complete this song. Take a look at the starting lyrics below:

“You took it off the table then I put it back again
I’m really good at starting but I don’t know when it has to end
You’re leaving in reality I’m staying in pretend

Louis The Child always seems to find the perfect lyrics for their tracks, and this one is no different. The message of the lyrics come off disconcerting, yet the vibe of the song suggests that they are expressing a naive discount of the truth. It’s kind of like saying: “Better to ignore it and pretend everything’s fine.”

This track gets a high rating for me because I’m biased. I dig Louis The Child. The transitions and simplicity of the beat are what I like the most. the set up is well mastered, which leads into the hook at :56 seconds that utilizes soft synths to create a blissful hook. The trumpet at 2:28 is also a nice closing touch.
