Neither Mad Mark nor the Gelato strain is a stranger to our publication. We reviewed Mad Mark’s Mad Gelato strain last year and we knew we’d have to save a spot for this year’s West Coast Weed Tour. Mad Gelato took the cake as one of the best Gelato strains around and this batch is no different.
Gelato has one of the most stable genetic profiles out there. You can find it from all kinds of growers and price ranges and more times than not the quality seems to be present. It seems like Gelato’s staying power comes from a combination of how much consumers like to smoke and how much growers like to produce it. The Mad Gelato has a classic Gelato feel but you can obviously tell it was grown by Mark the mad cannabis scientist.
Mark’s packaging stands out. The Mr. Yuck logo with bold red font and plenty of real estate to keep an eye on the beautiful buds. One turn of the lid and Mad Gelato’s aroma starts creeping out. Once removed it will fill the entire room with its illustrious gassy, musky, and spicy smells.
The Mad Gelato’s flavors follow the aromas in lock-step. The terps come through the entire smoking experience, which is fairly rare for flower in my experience. This strain had everything I could want from a Gelato strain and it makes it hit a little better just knowing it came from Mad Mark who is one of the best legal cannabis sherpas you could ever ask for.
