Mantis Extracts is one of the most recognizable concentrate brands in the state. In large part because of their unique branding and beautiful oil, but it their founder Justin Baldwin does a great job of hitting the streets and mingling with the people who smoke his product. I’ve seen Justin at the last few cannabis events I’ve attended slanging knowledge about Mantis Extracts cannabis oil, like their Chembert terp sauce.
Their Chembert terp sauce comes full of flavor with 9.7 percent terpenes. Chembert is a cross between Chemdawg and Sherbert, and this strain is a Mantis Extracts garden exclusive. Chembert is a creamy sauce with a pale yellow color. When you take off the lid and put your nose in the jar, complex aromas creep into your nasal cavity, and has sweet, sour, fuel and pine scented terpenes that make your nose hairs shiver.
This terp sauce has a smooth pudding-like consistency that works best with a flat/scooped shaped dab tool, but has enough stick to it that you can roll it in balls/worms and throw it on your hot nail if you’re in a pinch with no dab tool. The taste has the same complexities as the smell. On the initial inhale this dab has fuel and sour terpenes, but on the exhale a warm sweetness takes hold and provides a surprising balance.
Chembert has powerful hybrid effects. It’s stimulating mentally, almost racy with a gentle warm body high as well. Chembert was on the potent side and I like using this strain to write and get out my thoughts in a fast-paced fashion.
