Another PR Stunt: Marshmello Rides with NASCAR for Burnout Boulevard

In yet another adrenaline-fueled PR stunt, Marshmello and NASCAR released videos yesterday of the DJ riding with NASCAR driver Austin Dillon for Las Vegas’ Burnout Boulvevard event. The two go on a high-speed run through the Las Vegas strip, doing donuts in an intersection as Marshmello films on his phone.

Just a few days ago, we covered Marshmello’s apparent American Ninja Warrior run, and whether or not the masked DJ was actually running the treacherous course. We did an in-depth analysis, and – spoiler alert – it was a stunt double. However, this stunt definitely looks like it features the real ‘mello.

Marshmello is set to perform in Las Vegas at the famed XS Nightclub, so his location during the stunt checks out. Coupled with the fact that he was in the passenger seat of the car, instead of being the driver, makes this stunt highly plausible. Marshmello shows up to the event wearing a version of his signature long-sleeve white tee that features the artwork for his newest single “Happier”, something the Ninja Warrior stunt double didn’t have. This is another clue-in to Marshmello actually being in the car.

Does this help or hurt the leading theory that Marshmello was actually running the Ninja Warrior course? We think it further points to the Ninja Warrior runner being a stunt double.

In any case, we hope Marshmello’s whiplash isn’t too bad from wearing that giant helmet while doing high-speed donuts.
