Mau5trap Label Artist ‘Notaker’ Releases New EP, Erebus I

Notaker, the Missouri native and fellow member of the famous deadmau5 music label, mau5trap, finally released his highly anticipated EP, ‘Erebus I‘. Doing his part in bringing a unique sound to the industry, with his futuristic and moody approach he looks to set himself apart from others. Similar in ways to his label mate and rising electronic stars, Rezz & 1788-L, they use similar sounds, which are bass heavy with a sort of darkness and sci-fi sound.

Notaker said, “the concept behind this EP was to expand on the idea of my Vessel series by creating a story using the tracklist order, mood, and artwork for each song to tell an ambiguous sci-fi / space story about the Vessel. Essentially the Vessel’s A.I. experiences a Fatal System Error after The Vessel travels through a wormhole, the Corrupted A.I. then becomes hostile towards the crew forcing many of the to jettison the Vessel and go into Hypersleep. The remaining crew then cut the power supply to the A.I. and have to travel back through the wormhole without any guidance. Also in the promo mix I spliced in a few audio clips of dialogue from movies that I drew inspiration from for the story and artwork (Interstellar, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and Alien).”

Notaker was able to go full force with his latest work, bringing every sound that one must hear to make up a good song. His EP definitely translates undeniably to the sci-fi space story he aimed for with the space sounds and audio clips. With features from label mate and mau5trap veteran, BlackGummy, along with electronic music duo Eminence. We have provided the new EP, Erebus I below to check out. Be sure to follow along all of Notaker’s social media channels for more updates, releases, tour dates and more!
