Metro Boomin recently sold a portion of his publishing catalog for close to 70 million dollars and has plans to drop a new album featuring hip-hop artist Future.
Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Metro later moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he started his music career. Early on, he started to work with artists such as Gucci Mane and OJ Da Juiceman (to name a couple) and made his big break in 2016.
Over the years, Metro has been literally boomin’ in the music scene.
He is an eminent producer that’s shy of 100 songs reaching Billboard’s Hot 100, has two No. 1’s, and 10 top 10 hits. The remix to Future’s “Karate Chop” featuring Lil Wayne ascended to the Hot 100, peaking at No. 82 in April 2013. Most recently, he released his album Heroes & Villains.

Metro is taking his music to a new level by selling a portion of his publishing catalog to Shamrock Capital, an LA-based investment group. This publishing catalog closed out for an estimated $70 million. The deal closed on Tuesday (March 7).
Selling his publishing catalog is not stopping him from creating record-hitting music. He also recently reconfirmed that him and hip-hop artist Future will drop an album sometime this year.
Future has worked with Metro on many projects, so this encounter won’t be anything new.
Many fans anticipate and rave about the upcoming album since this has not been the only time a joint project between the two has been mentioned by both artists.

Earlier this year, Future took to his Instagram story to share photos from another Instagram account claiming the pair are prepping for a joint project.
Metro was supposed to be on Future’s album, Never Liked You but figured it would be better if they recorded a full project according to Metro.
Metro reconfirmed this album collaboration in a recent interview with FLAUNT Magazine. “Definitely. I would bet on it,” he said of the chances of the joint LP making landfall in the calendar year. “I would definitely bet on it.”
