Nookies Strain Review (Prod. Solstice & Swamp Boys)

Now Nookies isn’t only an awesome Limp Bizkit song from the early 90’s (yes, I said awesome), it’s also a highly anticipated cannabis strain that was created from a collaboration between famed cannabis geneticists the Swamp Boys and Solstice. The Nookies strain was dropped last week and we had to find out if it lived up to the hype.

At first glance, the packaging is worthy of a special product drop. The black and gold label with a strain tag looks classy with a hint of boujee, and the artwork itself is top-notch. The lid shows the Seattle Space Needle being guarded by an American Alligator, the art represents both brands well.

Hype is a weird thing, it can elevate a product at release or it can completely tear it down. This happens routinely with feature films. Intense marketing campaigns can build something up to a point where its impossible to meet expectations. This situation encapsulates how I feel about the Nookies strain, it’s good cannabis that was hyped up too much to live up to expectations.

While the aroma from the Nookies strain was strong, it wasn’t memorable and the flowers themselves weren’t robust like I’d expect from a $60 eighth. The flower was a little dry and it affected the taste. However the high from the Nookies was straight sativa. The effects hummed through my mind and made me awake and alert during my trip through Port Gamble on the Olympic Peninsula. The Nookies strain elevated my visit at Port Gamble’s aquatic life museum, but the high price tag left me wanting something more.
