Normani Kordei best known for her synonymous first name stage name, is an R&B princess who got her start in Fifth Harmony. After the girl group’s breakup in 2018, Normani soon became a solo artist much like her other band members, Camilla Cabello and Lauren Jauregui. Her debut solo single ‘Motivation’ released in 2018 was a crowd thumper that tributed back to 90’s R&B with a huge modern pop sensibility. Now set to release in 2024, Dopamine will be Normani’s first studio album.
Normani has been a previous Billboard charter not only with her debut single but reached to #7 with Sam Smith on “Dancing with a Stranger”. Normani hasn’t shied away from music though the news of her album was stagnant. For 2020’s “Birds of Prey”, she collaborated with Megan Thee Stallion on “Diamonds” which showcased gorgeous vocals and hip-hop triumph. For Calvin Harris’s “Funk Wave Bounce Vol.2”, Normani was featured on “New To You” alongside Tinashe and Offset.
Normani’s Dopamine Set to Release
I have my album title y’all
— Normani (@Normani) July 1, 2018
Dopamine is a step for Normani, not many fans saw coming. Back in 2018, she famously tweeted “I have my album title y’all”. Now a joke that many stans have gone back to reference each year. Just before the album announcement, a slight controversy on Twitter had also appeared with a Normani stan account. It appeared to be logged into her Instagram account which was deactivated temporarily. Leading some to believe she’s running her own stan Twitter account. Her Instagram is now back up and running with the announcement of the album and a wipe of all work previous, the upcoming project is a new start.

Normani’s story is to be continued
Dopamine has no set date yet but nonetheless is an exciting promise from a long-awaited artist. A snippet of one of the album’s tracks has circulated, and its production style mimics previous works like “Wild Side”. Much like her debut single, the album will establish Normani’s love for R&B greats like Aaliyah. The project hopefully will establish her music legacy.
