Morning Prayer

“Morning Prayer” kicks off this EP with inspiring piano chords and an infectious chorus that sets up for an epic drop. The trap and electronic influences perfectly accent the lyrics and flow of the song. Serving as the single for the EP, Morning Prayer certainly sets the tone for what we’ll get on this entire project.

OKAY

OKAY is just the track to get your mind right. Spacey synths/chords take the lead by providing an open space that makes you feel like you’re floating. Fluffy melodies also pair excellently with the hard-hitting trap/hip-hop influenced percussion that gives this track euphoric energy swings. This song is bound to get you up and on your feet.

Comfortable

Comfortable keeps the EP moving while also providing softer tones in the vocals. Delicate string melodies help build out a comfy atmosphere that is kept moving by trap/hip-hop percussion. Comfortable strikes an interesting balance of relaxation and high-energy. It’s got the sounds of a late-night lullaby and a love song all in one. If you’re looking to feel comfortable, this is the track for you.

Every Woman

“Every Woman” could be described as a laid-back track that also keeps its energy going from start to finish. The Whitney Houston vocal sample brings nostalgic and melodic tones that take you back in time. With the trumpets and other synth melodies, there is no doubt that this is a timeless track. A perfect song for a turning-up or just hanging out, this track should be a staple for your playlist.

Super Lit Boi

With checks still depositing, Calabasas flexes optimistic and inspiring vibes on “Super Lit Boi.” This is by far one of the most energy-packed tracks we get on this EP. The retro electric guitar strums accompanied by synth keys and brass set up for an epic drop that’s full of energy and power. It’s an ideal track to make anyone feel like they’re on top of the world and on their way up. Entrancing guitar solos and hard-hitting percussion also make this track one of Calabasas’ most energetic to date.

Sex On The Roof Feat. Kawelo

Are you looking to be instantly transferred into a car cruising through the Hollywood Hills? Then “Sex On The Roof is for you. Featuring Kawelo, this uptempo track provides heavy head-bouncing energy to an intimate and airy song. Synth bells and floaty vocals also give this track an atmosphere that’s perfect for almost any situation. “Sex On The Roof” is definitely a staple song to kick back to.

Put Em Up (Feat. Prznt)

“Put Em Up” on its own is a very distinguishable track, but a long-awaited collaboration with Florida artist Prznt takes it to the next level. Calabasas and Prznt’s vocals float effortlessly on top of the delicate and uptempo percussion. Soft flute melodies, short vocals, and synths decorate this track with all types of rhythm and speed. Yet again, Calabasas has delivered on a staple song for all our late-night car drives.

FTJ

Finally, serving as the closing song to “Okay: An LA Story,” FTJ or “From The Jump,” is another laid back track filled with atmospheric vocals and melodies that make you feel like you’re floating in the sky. Hard-hitting trap percussion and airy synth pluck melodies also give this track a head-bobbing rhythm that’s just as easy to turn-up to as it is to relax to. To say the least, FTJ certainly ends this EP with a chef’s kiss.

Calabasas Continues To Shine

“Okay: An LA Story” truly showcases what Calabasas is capable of creating and how versatile they are as artists. Their ability to pull from different genres and create things that sound like they’re from another planet is just one of the qualities that distinguish them as artists. Yet again, this duo establishes how they shine amongst the crowd. If you haven’t been put on to Calabasas, now you have.
