It’s a rare scene to see me in a club, dancing around to electronic music. Strobelights irritate me, it’s overtly loud, and I’m already hard of hearing so I spend all night lost in translation. Needless to say, I wasn’t too thrilled about going to Q Nightclub. I’m so happy I did though. The Omni Release Party with Levitate and Macntaj was insanely fun.

The Omni EP is an experience to listen to on its own. Add in the atmosphere of a club filled with colorful strobing lights, and it makes for an immersive effect that even a non-EDM lover could appreciate fully. The way that Levitate creatively distorts Macntaj’s lyrics while still respecting the artform shows how beautifully the genres can be blended.
The live performance was also a testament to how popular this crossover will be. The stories Levitate builds through his songs, take you on a rollercoaster ride. Directing your reaction and emotions with every second that passes. In an intoxicated mindstate it’s easy to get lost within yourself or a dance partner.
With the introduction of a charismatic emcee like Macntaj, who can command the stage and relate to the crowd, you get this powerfully dynamic performance that can be enjoyed from a multitude of perspectives.
