Papa & Barkley Celebrates Pride By Partnering With Non-Profits And Uplifting Queer Voices

This Pride Month, Papa & Barkley is showing their support alongside the LGBTQ+ community by partnering with and uplifting the voices of queer individuals and non-profit organizations. Most significantly, the Company has pledged to donate 1% of its sales on PapaAndBarkleyCBD.com and shop.papaandbarkley.com to COLORS YOUTH. COLORS LGBTQ Youth Counseling is doing amazing work in the Los Angeles area by providing free and unlimited mental health services for LGBTQ+ youths.

Additionally, longtime fans of the brand and its products, and also commonly referenced as the “unofficial gay parents of TikTok,” Grey + Grayson came together with the Papa & Barkley’s Team to develop a “gay goodies box.” These two are inspiring. Give them a follow and check out their socials: @officiallyverygay, @graysonprnce, and @rugratsinparis.

Ultimately, Papa & Barkley wants the LBGTQ+ community to “know that you are loved, appreciated,
protected, supported, & nourished—while we are all here.”

Papa & Barkley draws inspiration from Grey + Grayson

Grey + Grayson are an intersectional queer couple who have brought visibility and garnered support for the LGBTQ+ community through their compelling and vulnerable videos on Tik Tok. Their platform bravely follows Grayson’s transition and subsequently vlogs their daily lives.

Consequently, Grayson used Papa & Barkley 1:3 Releaf Balm and Body Oil to help ease with pain that resulted from his transition surgery. Moreover, Grayson also speaks of incorporating hash-infused gummies into their nightly routine.

Furthermore, as a collaboration, Papa & Barkley and Grey + Grayson will be spreading the message: “give us our flowers why we’re still here.”

Subsequently, Grey thoughtfully noted that “This statement radiates as a cry to consciousness while also holding space as a beautiful offering from within and outside of our community. We’ve gone through a lot and will sadly continue to but in spite of that reality we take care of ourselves, and each other, and will always give/receive the flowers we know we deserve!” Flowers of any kind are welcome.

Papa & Barkely is donating 1% of Sales to COLORS Youth

As I said, 1% of sales from Papa & Barkley throughout the month of June is being given to COLORS Youth Counseling. The organization works tirelessly to “ensure that LGBTQ+ identified youth have the mental health support they need in order to walk into their adulthood affirmed in their sexual orientation and/or gender identity and are able to achieve their full potential while supporting strong and productive relationships with their families, partners, and other community members.”

COLORS Youth is making a difference each and every day in the lives of disenfranchised youth. Consequently, we need to support organizations like this that are valiantly counseling and celebrating our young LGBTQ+ community, in a crucial era when discrimination is still widely prevalent.

Why is Pride Important?

Click here to learn more about Pride and its historical significance in the U.S. and beyond. Pride is so much more than a parade and rainbow flags. Pride, is a movement–vowing respect for and giving recognition to those courageous individuals who fought against the status quo, heteronormativity, and bigotry.

The gay rights movement in the United States has seen huge progress in the last century, and especially the last two decades. Laws prohibiting homosexual activity have been struck down; lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals can now serve openly in the military. And same-sex couples can now legally get married and adopt children in all 50 states. But it has been a long and bumpy road for gay rights proponents, who are still advocating for employment, housing and transgender rights.
