Let me tell you the story of my first Paradiso Festival. It was 2012 and I was barely 21. I had never been to any kind of EDM event plus the only acts I had heard of on the lineup were Avicii and Afrojack. I will shamelessly admit that my favorite song at the time was Avicii’s “Levels.” Forgive me, I was new.
I spent all day in front of the main stage where I was also traded my first piece of kandi. I made out with a dude wearing a beaded-mask who said his name was either James or “Massacre.” I met the most insane and wonderful people and there was rave booty everywhere! The scent of bro-B.O. definitely filled the air, but I powered through it and had my mind blown by artists I had never even heard of before. I danced until I realized my friend, Jessyca was missing, then I ran around freezing and in near tears looking for her. It was awesome and I’ve been to Paradiso every year since.
Since that first experience, I now have three Paradisos, two Freaknights, two Luckys, a Resolution, and a handful of other dance music events under my belt. I’ve traded lots of kandi, kissed a few guys, a few girls, and even made a friend or two at every event. I’ve had my mind blown by pretty much everyone, Brillz, Bassnectar, Crizzly, and Kaskade to name a few… Paradiso is THE ONE event a year I look forward to the most. This time around, when I say the lineup is stacked, I actually mean the lineup is FUXXXN stacked.
The headliners to begin with were already massive with Armin Van Buuren, Martin Garrix, and Knife Party playing Friday, and Skrillex, Alesso, and Dash Berlin taking over Saturday.
With the full lineup just released, you can now add these artists to that list: 3LAU, Alvaro, Amtrac, Arty, Big Gigantic, Bingo Players, Borgeous, Botnek, Bynon, Classixx, D-Wayne, Da Tweekaz, Doctor P B2B Funtcase, Dr. Fresch, Dyro, EDX, Eptic B2B Must Die, Fury + MC Dino, G Jones, Galantis, Ghastly, Green Velvet, GTA, Haywyre, Henry Fong, Ilan Bluestone, Jack Beats, John O’Callaghan, Kap Slap, Kayliox, Kill Frenzy, Kill the Noise, Koan Sound, Louis Futon, Low Steppa, Luminox, Manic Focus, Matthew Koma, Metrik, Mija, Mitis, Mord Fustang, Motez, Party Favor, Pegboard Nerds, Pierce Fulton, Savant, Showtek, Snails, Stylust Beats, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, TJR, Trippy Turtle, Trollphace, Vanilla Ace, Vinai, Wave Race, Yellow Claw, and Zomboy.
Boom! That lineup is magic. Honestly, all I wanted to see was Yellow Claw and I got my wish. Schedule permitting, you will also find me at Arty, Borgeous, GTA, Snails, and at the main stage for the headliners. Hopefully, you’ll see me down in the front of the stage shooting off more confetti cannons in your face.
When I’m not working as a volunteer confetti popper, you will find me trading kandi, making out with everybody and their mothers, peeping some grade-A rave booty, building friendships that will either last forever or for the weekend (both are fine), and having my mind blown by the rave-mecca we know as Paradiso. Come with me; we’ll have our minds blown together.
