In the ways of the great Beyonce, PartyNextDoor released Colours 2 unannounced in the late hours of June 2nd. While there is nothing new to the release style in this regard, Colours 2 is quietly breaking the rules.
Colours is available to stream on both Spotify and Apple Music. The EP is also available on Soundcloud with a bonus intro featuring Majid Jordan. This is the first I’ve seen a major artist curve the “big guys” and favor Soundcloud.
Even if the record is short, Majid is killer. ‘Peace Of Mind’ and ‘Freak In You’ are clear standouts both production and vocal wise. Check this one out and for artists out there, keep in mind the creativity behind a release like this!
PartyNextDoor – Colours 2
OVO has long been heavy with the platform, but it’s still weird to see Apple excluded as their ‘OVO Sound Radio’ is exclusively through the streaming service. Seeing as Soundcloud is free, Party is dropping a gem completely free of charge to his fans. I’ve had the four track EP on repeat this week and was stoked to find there was an extra record on Soundcloud.
