Nightwalk is a 5 song EP that distills his years of experience writing music with different artists and bands throughout New York City and beyond. He has been creating music with various electronic artists including Pico Fermi and Charcole Federation. The tracks on his EP were developed for a year at Battalion Studios in Gowanus, Brooklyn.
Paul Feder uses the vocoder to incorporate his voice with layered and arpeggiated keys, which create a dreamy synth-pop sound. The record has an upbeat and beachy vibe, with 5 tracks that each have their piece of Euro-tinged electronica sound.
Behind the Tracks on Nightwalk by Paul Feder
The first song on the project titled “Lose My Mind” has a sound that glorifies the nostalgia of late summer days, using airy synths and a persistent kick. The upbeat melody and vocals create a warm and rich song to start the project. “Desert Run,” another single on the project, takes us in a different direction with more Yorke-influenced sounds, while still capturing the summer sound and atmosphere. The song has a progressive build with live drums and crescendo vocal layers.
The upbeat melodies and lively drums and synths create a distinct sound throughout the whole project. The EP takes us on a journey through Feder’s creative utopia, intertwining different sounds and vocals for each track.
