PF Liars are a soulful trio who mix rock, RnB, and hip-hop together. The lead emcee is Blaine Davis, a.k.a. 5 Flat, and formerly a part of Nu Era. Previously, he had teamed up with guitarist Joseph Comin to release a grunge and rock inspired hip-hop album titled Influence. Both of them added Keelie Martin, a harmony powerhouse, and vocalist to the mix and the PF Liars were born.
This self-titled EP is for the kids who played outside and ran around barefoot. For the time spent around campfires, and the times you feel like a country-outlaw. This EP is for the brief few months that we look forward to when it’s warm and dry here in Seattle.
PF Liars Debut EP
I’ve known Blaine for a while, he’s the type of guy that makes me want to kick back with a six pack and pet a dog. His good vibes transcended into this project to create something undeniably groovy.
Joseph Comin has this charisma on stage that comes from his passion for playing guitar. I saw them perform together at the Rendezvous, which if I remember correctly was their first time ever performing as a band. You could tell he felt the magic on stage because he had a shit eating grin on his face for most of the set. He deserves to rock that smile because his guitar sings beautifully.
Keelie Martin’s sandy voice warms the harmony. She can project with incredible power. I watched her do a rendition of Amy Winehouse’s “Valerie” and it was just as soulful as the late artist could muster.
Come check out this budding band at Barboza on January 19th for their album release party. La Fonda and Biddadat will be joining the trio for a vivacious night that I cannot wait for. It’s only $8 in advance but unfortunately, it is 21 and over.
