Pink Runtz Is A Mysteriously Sweet And Floral Designer Strain

The Runtz family only seems to be growing as more people become increasingly aware of its beautiful smell and heady effects. A mysterious off-shoot of the original Runtz strain that’s been building its own immense hype, lately, is the Pink Runtz strain.

No matter where it came from, the Pink Runtz strain is undeniably gorgeous to feast your eyes upon. Dark, sassy green hues largely make up the color of this bud, with sneaky alcoves of purple interwoven. This is the kind of super chunky indica-dominant bud that you need to bust out the grinder to break down.

Terpenes and Effects

When smoking the strain, you may taste a sweet strawberry and grapefruit flavor. With the same creamy and candy-like qualities that the original Runtz has, the Pink Runtz might deliver a similar kind of experience and high.

The flower form of the strain is often found with the dominant terpene being caryophyllene. Despite its overwhelmingly sweet qualities, this spicy terpene is dominant throughout the strain’s lineage. What the terpene doesn’t lend in taste, it may make up for in potent effects. For instance, the high that comes from smoking some Pink Runtz may make you talkative and boost your mood.

However, in a live resin offering from extract manufacturers, Oleum, in Washington state, the dominant terpene that was shown on the packaging was linalool. Having linalool at the top of the terpene pile not only suggests a sweeter and more candy-like taste but it’s also more likely to have potentially sedative effects. Additionally, a high content of linalool would also suggest that the strain is a Runtz phenotype with a stronger presence from its Zkittlez parent.

Lineage & Genetics

While Pink Runtz is believed to come from the original Runtz, others believe that it comes from crossing Pink Panties with Rainbow Sherbert. The original Runtz strain comes from crossing Gelato with Zkittlez to produce arguably one of the most popular strains, at the moment, up and down the West Coast. The Pink Runtz strain is an offspring of those same parent strains; however, it has a different balance of effects and taste. Other offspring of Runtz, include White Runtz and Tropical Runtz.

An offspring of Pink Runtz and Hawaiian is Hawaiian Runtz. It may keep its often-relaxing berry flavors from its parents, but it gets both of its parents’ potentially uplifting effects.
