Last week I had the opportunity to represent Respect My Region at the Red Bull Sound Select in Seattle, WA. This event was off the fucking chain. By 8:00pm, the line was down the block for the opening acts and that’s when I knew it was going to be a great night.
To get things started, we had Vlad Sepetov and Knox Fortune dropping down those hip-hop and melodic bass music vibes to set the tone for the night. Knox Fortune is a super diverse artist. I checked out some of his music online and it’s crazy to see the broad scope of sound he puts out. You can listen to some fresh alternative music from Knox Fortune below.

One thing that stood out at this event was the organization and respect from the Red Bull Sound Select crew. This event ran very smoothly and everyone there was having the time of their lives. Of course this isn’t hard to imagine because after Vlad Sepetov and Knox Fortune, I had the pleasure of seeing Mija followed by Mr. Carmack.
These two slayed this show. Mija started off with some deep and groovy house music and switched things up to music with tech influence then her set evolved even further when she had a celloist come out on stage a perform. This display was magical because its not everyday you see people willing to take a step out side the box and add an element such as a cello to an electronic music performance. Last but not least, Mr. Carmack was phenomenal. It’s been a while since I’ve been able to see him at an event so I’m eternally grateful I was able to attend this one. Mr. Carmack brought the roof down with his unique fusion of hip-hop, melodic trap music and what I’m calling new wave because it doesn’t really fit in any genre category. All in all, the music was on point. Everyone I talked to had a great time and really had no gripes about the event. Red Bull did a tremendous job throwing this show. If you see a Red Bull Sound Select event in a city near you, I would highly recommend attending. Thanks to the Red Bull team for having us out!
