Sad Night Dynamite Teams up with IDK to Release Another Genre Cocktail Titled “Psychedelic Views”

Alternative UK duo Sad Night Dynamite teamed up with DMV rapper IDK to release a trippy soundscape on August 18th, titled “Psychedelic Views.” IDK marks the first artist to feature on the duo’s music since their debut in early 2020. With the genreless and intricate sound that Sad Night Dynamite has formed, it was hard to imagine IDK fitting snugly within their cadence. But he certainly delivered, and with absolutely no disappointment.

“Psychedelic Views” features Sad Night Dynamite’s signature experimental and slightly hypnotic sound that doesn’t quite fit in any one genre. The duo holds an overall alternative electronic sound but mixes in elements from essentially every other genre as well. SND is also known for their consistent use of lesser used and known samples. This time, the genre cocktail has about one part hip-hop thrown into the mix with vivid bars from IDK. His assertive and articulate delivery is definitely reminiscence of Kanye West, but proves to be more pliant as it fits into SND’s beat effortlessly.

Who is Sad Night Dynamite?

If you’ve read this far, thank you for being curious about this rookie. I promise you’ll appreciate the time spent diving into the duo. Sad Night Dynamite consists of two dudes, Josh and Archie, who grew up together in Somerset. They are presently based in London.

SND appeared basically out of nowhere in the beginning of 2020 with an EP titled SND001. The first of four tracks, “Crying Over Nothing” appeared to be what grabbed the attention of music fans and the industry alike, all over the world. Following their impressive debut was four more singles, “Icy Violence,” “Killshot,” “Mountain Jack,” and “Smoke Hole.” Each track brought never-before-heard sounds, attracting more interest worldwide and solidifying the duo’s fanbase.

When Sad Night Dynamite’s debut self-titled album came out in February 2021, they already had a loyal and decent following ready for it. From my observations, if an album is self-titled it is bound to be mind-blowing. Sad Night Dynamite delivered and exceeded all expectations. Sad Night Dynamite delivers 30 minutes of cinematic vocals aloft enthralling psychedelic soundscapes. I can confidently say that this is my favorite album of 2021, and quite possibly my favorite duo ever.
