Sada Baby Shows Off A Gorgeous Detroit In “ShoNuff”

Featuring better shots of Detroit than most films set here, Sada Baby’s “ShoNuff” is a tour de force lyrically an artistically. Few pieces of media can display the raw beauty of this city, with its lonely 4 bus line on Woodward, haunting Renaissance Center, cold streets, and even the Ally building.

Laidback and confident, Sada Baby fires off bar after bar barely moving his lips at points and slashing in with his voice at others. Unlike other cities, Detroit celebrates variety and diversity, even in our flows. Sada is a perfect embodiment of this style where he flows between conversational, argumentative, and singing seamlessly.

A King of Detroit’s Modern Scene

It is a wonder how Sada Baby is such a well-kept secret nationally because he practically runs hip-hop in the city. Every rapper, every fan of the genre, and every parent is very familiar with his name. Although he’s cold as fuck, a very threatening presence, there’s also a touch of that Michigan goofiness. Even the killers out here can’t dispense of charm.

“You ain’t shit, I’m Booker T Yo Ass Stevie Ray”

In between references to Kirby and Zorro, Sada spits with vicious braggadocio which only he can match in the game right now. In the era of Drake big egos seem almost blaze, but Sada Baby sells it with a dead-serious delivery. “Boy I be in Georgia by myself with drugs and pistols on me, Jump back to Detroit and do the same shit with my ni**as only, Pop out to the Bay I got that hammer with the 50 on it” he says, cutting up the whole country.

According to Sada, a friend “said I can’t have my pistol up in NYC, but JB know I be walked in there wit anything.” In an era of washed-out simps, Sada Baby sells real character.

“Me no give no fucks about no bitch because they legs be open”

Every line of his verse pops with a threatening attitude, and few have ever run the city as smoothly as Sada Baby. The guitars featured in the beat of “ShoNuff” are a surprising addition for traditional hip-hop, but quintessentially Detroit. Holding on to the traditions of the city, Sada spits slander while closing out his last verse: I just spent your rent on this drink that I’m about to sip, I got a perky habit bitch I don’t want no food, I wake up in the morning need it or I’mma be rude, You look like Lil’ Xan’ holding a tool fool, You put me on cam with that bitch you blew, This ain’t your video game bitch I’mma really shoot you.”

“Calm down you niggas only tough when I’m not around, I don’t sound like no ni**a this how I sound”

Sada Baby perhaps rightfully declares with his chorus. “The best there is best there was best there ever will be, Got no kids I raise guns I can’t let ’em kill me, It is what it is fuck what it was bitch I’m still me and I’ll fuck you up,” are the final words he lets out before the beat plays out.

Considering how this video drips with style and swag, Sada Baby is one of the most exciting things happening in Detroit.
