Finally, the long-since teased collaboration between the two Never Say Die alumni, Sharps and Jiqui, is out. To give a brief synopsis of this track—it’s hard. Very, very hard. Sharps’ music is heavy, that’s a given, but this track takes his sound to a whole new level.
The track starts off heavy with a rap line over an intense trap beat, then crescendos quickly into a heater of a dubstep drop. A short drop delay unexpectedly gives the listener a feeling of anticipation, but comes back together for a real headbanger of a drop. Like the artwork, Drop It is a rollercoaster of a track. There’s no doubt that this song will be heard across the upcoming festival circuits.
Winson Sharps, known as SHARPS, is formerly a native to the Seattle music scene, now a resident of Phoenix, Arizona. He has releases on Never Say Die, Disciple, Dim Mak, and Firepower. He has collaborated with Kompany, Fransis Derelle, Effin, and TYNAN, among others. His upcoming shows include Riot Ten’s tour stops in San Diego and Hollywood, California, put on by Bassrush.
Jiqui, a native of Vancouver BC, is also an NSD alum. He has had releases on Emengy, Odio, Sauce Kitchen, and Cross Finger. He has collaborated with the Ragga Twins, TRVCY, Alpha Noize, and MVRKK, among others.
