The ShowBox hosted Playboi Carti’s first stop off his North American Tour and we were there to witness it this last Tuesday. His tour will run the next couple of months and will include 20+ stops from Washington State, down the West Coast and over to the East Coast. Then he’s heading up North through Canada and will finish up just before Christmas in Texas!
With no opener, Carti eventually came to the stage to completely own the night. With a dark and dimly lit stage set, he passionately went side-to-side screaming his lyrics. In between screams and the songs he was singing you might have heard machine gunshots as he transitioned from one song to another. He also managed to slip in all his little sayings and phrases that people know him so famously for. The music was loud, the room was hot, mosh pits were forming and people were packed-in like sardines. There was no doubt Playboi Carti came to rage.
It was one of those concerts that people are going to remember forever. The energy was incomparable, and to have the chance to experience it with Carti himself makes things that much more special. It will definitely stand-out for those that haven’t been in an environment that intense before. Travis Scott, Lil Uzi Vert, and Playboi Carti all give high-energy performances like these. There’s just nothing quite like it.
