Shpongle Takes Listeners On A Journey With EP "Carnival of Peculiarities"

Psychedelic EDM Duo Shpongle Takes Listeners On A Journey With Release Of New EP “Carnival of Peculiarities”

Psychedelic electronic outfit Shpongle have dropped their first release of 2021 in the form of a three-track EP entitled “Carnival of Peculiarities.

Members Simon Postford and Raja Ram have constructed an absolutely alien soundscape over the course of these three tracks. Often crafting long and immersive songs, this EP is no exception in Shpongle’s discography. Two of the tracks feature runtimes of over 9 minutes taking listeners on quite the journey.

Swirling synths and evocative ambient sounds float over pulsing rhythms, lending to a truly transcendent listening experience.

The first track, “Mycelium Labyrinth”, plunges the listener into a flurry of ambient psychedelia. Once the groove kicks in things ease out and smoothly transition into the title track, “Carnival of Peculiarities”. Heavily inspired by jazz vocabulary, the saucy melodies will have you bopping. The outro track, “Dr. Vinklestein Says”, has a high-octane energy reminiscent of electro swing.

Each track on this EP flows seamlessly into the next, creating a uniform sonic journey.
