SNT JMS is a rapper from Costa Mesa, California, and has been making music under his name since 2019. He has a style that blends the boom bap sound with trap rhythms, on top of using lively instrumentation. His style is similar to those of Joyner Lucas, EARTHGANG, J.I.D., Flatbush Zombies, and Anderson .Paak. But, his biggest influences are artists like Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z, and Rage Against The Machine.
The SNT JMS Sound
SNT JMS has the influences of the future within his music, using modern-day drum patterns that trap artists use. On top of this, his drum selections give off slight boom bap influence to create a balance between the two styles. To add, his flow plays a part in this balance while using soulful, live instrumentation to layer on top of the beat.
The choir vocals, brass instruments, string sections, and the bounce altogether brings back those 90s vibes. His lyrics are chock full of creative wordplay, playful melodies, and catchy hooks that draw you into each song.
The Inspiration
He gains inspiration to write from many different topics that pertain to his life. Race and identity, self-expression, and determination are major concepts in his music. Also, wealth and the perception of it, mixed kid issues, and the state of hip-hop culture are all huge draws of inspiration for SNT JMS.
SNT JMS takes not only the big picture concepts of inspiration but also the little things. For example, he stated that random things he eats, what his grandparents say, and other minuscule details are worked into his craft.
“I get inspired off of the weirdest shit forreal… I just like seeing things in clever ways.”

The Message
For him, hip-hop is the culture’s greatest natural resource for creativity, and he doesn’t feel obligated to stick with what’s popular or not. His vision is as authentic as it gets.
“I don’t need a fuckin’ permission slip from anybody to create how I see fit. Like if that’s what’s poppin or not I don’t give a fuck. I just gotta call it how I see it.”
The lessons that SNT JMS aims for you to take away from his music would be the importance of investments, the power and necessity to believe in yourself, and being able to say your piece.
The NBDY
On top of the music venture, SNT JMS also created a collective of like-minded people. His collective NBDYVLLE has two conceptions: “NBDY” lives forever, and it takes a village to make any level of creativity. As much as we’d like to say we did it alone, it always takes more than one person to accomplish something bigger than you can imagine.
This group was oriented to give a voice to those who feel forgotten, the meek, the “NBDY.” Building this collective gives the industry that level of egolessness and community within his group.
