Splash House 2022 Weekend 2 Official Recap

Splash House 2022 Weekend 2 Official Recap

Since it was founded in 2013 by Palm Springs residents Tyler and Kelly McLean, Splash House has become a pillar of tourism for the local community. This popular Southern California pool party is unlike any other we’ve attended.

Splash House is a multi-weekend event that simultaneously spans across three hotel resorts. Every location offers attendees a unique vibe, with poolside stages, VIP rooms, decked out balconies, spacious dance floors, as well as themed food and beverages!

On August 20th, Respect My Region traveled East from Los Angeles and went out into the desert to mingle with other house music lovers at our first ever Splash House summer music festival. RMR spent the weekend in floaty filled pools and danced through the heat (an insane 105°-110°) to bombastic bass backed beats. It’s no secret that we love a good festival and lucky for us, Splash House 2022 did not disappoint.

Splash House Experience

Venues

This year’s event was just as fun – if not more – than the Splash House parties we’ve attended in the past. The Splash House experience is reminiscent of a Vegas pool party, but with a unique So-Cal spin. We kicked the festival off at the Margaritaville Resort, a mid-century, island-inspired hotel that was named after the iconic Jimmy Buffet song. This used to be a super popular hotel but was purchased by Margaritaville and rebuilt to be an entirely unique experience. The wooden pool deck and decorative palm trees gave this venue a tropical feel that helped us mentally drift into paradise.

After Margaritaville, we ventured to the Renaissance Palm Springs. With panoramic views of the San Jacinto mountains, fire pits, a huge pool deck with a giant pool, and a turfed out dance/DJ area, the Renaissance was the perfect place to spend our afternoons.

From there, we made our way to The Saguaro Hotel which was hands down our favorite venue of the weekend. The Saguaro is known for its bright multi-colored decor, unique atmosphere, and beautiful view. We spent most of our time at this venue floating to the sounds of some of our favorite producers, bopping beach balls, and dancing around.

Pool Party Lineup

As part of the experience, there were designated shuttles that ran between the hotels. This really enabled us to bounce from stage to stage and experience each of the different vibes. The entire event felt super safe and secure with water being given out by the staff and helping direct us each time we didn’t know where to go. Shout out to the Splash House team for sharing free water at every shuttle location and for providing shuttles with AC. There was legitimately a part of the experience where we thought they were going to be the classic airport shuttles with very little ventilation. These extra amenities gave us a much needed break from the heat and made the entire weekend even more enjoyable.

The Splash House lineup was also stellar and paired great with the amenities. It was great to catch sets from Gorgon City, Fernet, San Holo, Cloonee, Cassian, TSU NAMI, and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs.
