After 15 Years Steel Pulse Releases Studio Album—Mass Manipulation

Steel Pulse has released their 12th studio album, Mass Manipulation, this last Friday. After four decades since their debut album, this is the first one they’ve dropped in 15 years! The British band stays true to their Rastafarian beliefs when speaking out about social injustices like racism, violence and human trafficking.

Song like “Don’t Shoot,” “Cry Cry Blood,” and “Human Trafficking,” solidify many of the band’s beliefs.  Their hope for this album is to uproot negativity and sharpen the minds of man. Certainly, they don’t disappoint with this release after their long hiatus.

History Of Steel Pulse

Steel Pulse is one of the longest running roots reggae bands in the industry today. They are regarded as Britain’s greatest reggae band and their debut album “Handsworth Revolution” is still a landmark and highpoint for the country’s reggae scene. David Hinds, lead singer & rhythm guitar, and Selwyn Brown, keyboards, are the final two original members from the band’s first album. Over the years, the band has seen five Grammy nominations, winning their first in 1986 with Best Reggae Album with “Babylon the Bandit.”
