What’s In Your Stoner Bag? – Joint Parenting

It’s two p.m. and your child is on their fifth breakdown of the day because you won’t let them eat the bath bomb you’ve been saving. You’re halfway through the week, every day has been like this and you don’t know how you’re going to make it. Every parent has “those” days that turn into weeks, months or years. When we run into this type of scenario, we rely on our stoner bag and a few key items in our household.

First on our list is a childproof container. We prefer to be extra safe and keep everything cannabis related in a locked box but there are smaller containers just for weed. While we want to educate our children on how to use properly, we want to keep them safe until then. At our house, cannabis is kept locked up and out of reach. We’re big fans of this dictionary book secret safe storage box and this survivor dry box.

Our next must have is the smoke buddy. Half of us at Joint Parenting live in apartments and therefore have to conceal the smell of our smoke. The smoke buddy is what your homemade toilet paper roll and dryer sheet would look if it was made in a factory. While you may not be concerned with the smell we do encourage you to look into some sort of air purifier if you aren’t able to smoke outside. You may also like the sploofy.

No stoner survival kit is complete without food. We’re big fans of Hi-Chews but basically something to help with cotton mouth. There is nothing worse than finally hitting that high you have been waiting for only to deal with a desert in your mouth. We recommend something fruity so that it doesn’t make you even thirstier.

Finally, we recommend eye drops. You never know when someone is going to show up at your house, your kid needs to go home early or your mother-in-law drops by unannounced. No one is more suspicious of someone with red eyes and a fat grin. Rohtos tend to be the most popular, we like our eyes so we recommend Clear Eyes and Amazon’s bestseller is TheraTears.

Don’t forget other simple items for your survival kit such as cannabis, a phone charger, nanny 911 business cards, etc. The bottom line is you’re going to need little tricks, items, or breathing exercises to get you through those tough days. Your child is learning so much and trying to process it all while behaving appropriately even though they don’t always know how. Cut them and yourself some slack and find some ways to make your life easier.
